Milani Bella Eyes

The Milani Bella Eyes were released not long ago when I bought these. Shows you how behind I am with updating my blog. I only picked up 3 and now am kicking myself for not getting more! These are perfect for trying out fun colours eg red and orange, things that you wouldn’t catch yourself wearing normally! These eyeshadows can be used both wet and dry but so far I have only used them dry.

Picked up Bella Purple, Bella Teal and Bella Ivory. I wanted to try out purples and see if they were flattering for me. I used to buy mostly browns and slowly transitioning into getting more colours. I didn’t own any eyeshadow in this shade and this would be a great start to finding out if it would work for me. Blues are something I would never ever put on my face. My skin tone is warm-yellow and blues on my eyes just make me look sick. Teal is not a straight up blue but has a little complexity in it, so I thought, heck let’s just try it and if it doesn’t work… then it can go into cold storage haha. Ivory was gotten to be used a base/blending colour.

Bella Purple – It is a satin matte formula and looks like a darkened grape. I find the texture a little dry to the touch but pigmentation can be built up. Have been spoilt silly by all the luxury Japanese makeup that I have become very fussy haha. A primer would be good to help it to adhere to your lids. I find that the brush picks up a sheer veil of colour and primer really makes the colour pop better.

Bella Teal – This one is a metallic formula. It somewhat reminds me of a peacock due to its metallic look. It has just a little green in it so that it isn’t a straight up blue. Still not really able to work this colour.. hmm.. The colour payoff with one swipe is better with this one but still needs 2 swipes before you get the richness you see in the photo.

Bella Ivory – Ooo chalky white 😦 It is in the satin matte formula but why… so .. powdery? It is okay if I use it a a base because the other eyeshadows just blend over it. On hindsight, I should have gotten cappuccino instead.

In conclusion, I do like these eyeshadows, especially at the price point, but not really loving it to bits. They are a little dry and need a few swipes to get richer pigmentation. I am not complaining though, because it makes it easier for me to blend out the eyeshadow. They retail for USD4.49 each, so hey, why not grab more?

edit: I think I should try them with a wet brush.. soon.

Milani Blushes – Warm Petals, Luminoso, Corallina, Bella Rosa

This haul has been some time ago but I thought some comparison swatches of what I bought would be good..

02 Flora Passion was from a previous haul and I got 03 Warm Petals. It looked like it would be a good bronzer or at least a blush to give a warm glow to my face.

Swatched – Flora Passion and Warm Petals. Flora Passion is a fool proof blusher for light-medium skin tones. Warm Petals is a brick brown colour with golden shimmer. It has a little tendency to turn just a little bit of orange on me and it looks better on me as a blusher rather than bronzer or sculpting powder. It is very pretty with the golden shimmer and I find myself reaching for it when I want a more nude look on my face. Just keep a light hand to avoid being too orange. Anyway, don’t the rose details look absolutely stunning?

Got more of the baked blushes too! They are so pretty and pigmented so I couldn’t resist. I already have Berry Amore and I purchased Luminoso (highly recommended!), Corallina and Bella Rosa.

Swatches left to right – Bella Rosa, Berry Amore, Coralina and Luminoso.

Bella Rosa is insanely pigmented. It is meant to be used with a light hand and creates the most beautiful flush on the cheeks, looking like you have just spent a little too much time in the cold. Corallina is a red-peach colour with chunky glitter. To get rid of the chunky glitter, I will dust the excess off on my hands before application. It is nice colour but I do wish the chunky glitter is a lot less. I thought that Luminoso would be a highlighter but I was proved wrong. It gives a gorgeous glow on my cheeks with soft beige-pink colour. It is shimmery with no discernible glitter.

Milani Blushes are great for the budget conscious. Lovely colours, great range – what’s not to love? Best of all, they do not burst my wallet and hauling a few at a go makes it less painful than getting a Chanel blush.

I have the Milani Bella Eyes review coming up as well! Just took the pictures but am rushing out now. Have a good Sunday ahead.

Blush Crush – Milani Blushes

Have realised that my photos are turning up a smidgen darker than usual. My dad changed my lights to LED type and it sorta puts the white balance out of whack. Here I have with me, my new acquired milani blushes! A good IG friend of mine helped us to order these from the US and had them shipped to Singapore! Milani is unavailable in Singapore, boohoo 😦 They have a fantastic range of blushes and coupled with a discount, these little pretty things are very affordable! I picked 3 different types to have a variety of blushes to play with!

This is Rose Powder in Flora Passion. It is a bright pink a touch of coral. The rose powder series have many ladies out there gushing over its gorgeousness. It is almost impossible to resist the delicate rose on this blush! The powder is a little dry but I still find it easy to pick up the blush with a slightly denser brush. It imparts a soft healthy flush to my cheeks and I am kicking myself for not ordering more!

Baked blush in Berry Amore. Ohh look at the marbling pattern on the blush. It is berry tone blush that ladies with more olive tones would favour. It has chunky gold glitter but a gentle flick of the the brush before you apply this on your cheeks with help to reduce the glitter on the face.

Lastly, this is the Illuminating face powder in Amber Nectar. It is a little shimmery and I use it on top of my blusher to give some glow to my face. I thought it would give some warmth to my face, but surprisingly it swatches a lot lighter than I expected. Nevertheless, it is a pretty blush!

Looking forward to trying out more Milani blushes and exploring blush colours that I do not really use 🙂
